大规模三维地球构造的研究,是研究地球状态及其发展过程的基础。80年代以来,美国东部哈佛大学和西部加州理工学院的两个研究小组在三维地球构造的研究方面始终处于领先地位。从这次 IUGG 大会的报告来看,哈佛大学杰旺斯基和伍德豪斯(Dziewonski and Wood-house)研究小组的成果更为突出。当前研究的主要成果是给出全球地震波速的三维图象,其次有密度的三维分布,Q 值的三维分布的研究还处于初始阶段。所利用的资料包括:①地震波资料(P、S 体波资料、面波资料和自由振荡的资料);②大地水平面和重力的资料;③
The study of large-scale three-dimensional Earth’s tectonics is the basis for studying the state of the earth and its development process. Since the 1980s, two research groups at Harvard University in the eastern United States and the California Institute of Technology in Western China have been leading the study of the three-dimensional earth structure. Judging from the report of the IUGG conference, the research group at Harvard University and the Dziewonski and Wood-house research group have become more prominent. The main achievement of the current research is to give a three-dimensional image of the global seismic wave velocity, followed by a three-dimensional distribution of density and the study of the three-dimensional distribution of Q values is still in its infancy.
