汪逆日记被发现以及即将公布的消息传出后,在海内外引起了不小的震动。社会上不少人对日记的内容表示了极大兴趣。应该说,汪精卫日记的史料价值是很高的,它对于研究汪伪政权史、抗日战争史提供了最为可靠的第一手材料,这尤其表现在一些史实的映证上。《汪精卫日记》始于1940年1月1日,终于1944年1月25日(旧历元旦),而这段时间恰恰是汪伪政权从筹组成立到走向溃散的历史阶段,也是汪精卫一生政治生涯中最丑恶、最鼎盛也是最后的时期。
