Using a semiconductor optical amplifier cross gain modulation into the pole 2. SGb / s zero-return optical pulse wavelength conversion. Downward wavelength conversion spacing greater than 20nm, upward wavelength conversion spacing greater than 10nm. The conversion signal measured the receiver into the fiber power and bit error rate relationship. The experimental results are analyzed. The experiments show that there are some problems when using the cross-gain modulation effect of the semiconductor optical amplifier for wavelength conversion.
