美国仙童公司最近研制成一种新型钛合金,其中含有15%的钒,以及各为3%的铝、铬、锡,形成了β相结构,可以进行冷加工。与广泛使用的Ti-6A1-4V合金相比,该合金含钒量高,因而起始成本亦高,但其成形性好,革除了昂贵的色套铣削工序,抵销了含钒量高引起的成本增加。在室温下,该合金可用下列任一工艺进行加工:带材弯曲、折曲成形、液压成形、冲压、落锤锻等。
