State Department Mentions New Macro Adjustment and Control Measures Premier Wen Jiabao chaired a State Council executive meeting on May 17 to study measures to promote the healthy development of the real estate industry. The meeting held that since the Central Government implemented the decision-making and deployment of strengthening the regulation and control of the real estate market last year, various localities and departments have done a great deal of work, and the momentum of real estate investment growth and too rapid increases of house prices has been initially suppressed. However, some problems in the real estate field have not yet been fundamentally solved, mainly due to the rapid rise of housing prices in a few major cities, the irrational contradiction between the housing supply structure and the real estate market
