由于受地理位置和自然条件的制约，甘肃森林覆被率只有８．４２％，而且资源面临枯竭的状态。为增加森林资源，缓解木材需求对天然林的压力，发展人工用材林是一项重要的战略措施。应在科学规划的基础上，在我省有条件的地区建立用材林基地，依靠科技进步，实行森林分类经营，改善环境，增加森林资源；广开投资渠道，培育新的经济增长点。
Due to its geographical location and natural conditions, the forest cover rate in Gansu is only 8.42%, and its resources are in a state of depletion. In order to increase forest resources and alleviate the pressure on timber from natural forests, the development of artificial timber forests is an important strategic measure. On the basis of scientific planning, a timber forest base should be set up in the conditional areas of Shaanxi Province. Based on advances in science and technology, forestry should be classified and managed to improve the environment and increase forest resources. Investment channels should be widened to cultivate new economic growth points.
