After more than 20 years of reform and opening up, the backward advantages of cities in the Yangtze River Delta have become increasingly apparent. Under the drive and radiation of Shanghai, the “Yangtze River Delta” has become the most developed and rapidly developing region in China today and ranks sixth in the world’s urban agglomerations. The governments and enterprises in the “Yangtze River Delta” also participated in and organized four regional cooperative organizations: the Central Coastal Economic Coordination Association of the Yangtze River Coast and the “Yangtze River Delta” cities.
