After fifteen years of short-term triangulation or plane-repeated measurements, crustal deformation is rapidly occurring in some parts of Australia and BMR has a research project that measures the crustal movement by analyzing ancient and up-to-date geodetic data. Today’s knowledge of crustal movement is important to help us understand the causes of earthquakes. In some areas where the crustal movement has continued in the same way for the last few centuries, it also helps us to understand some of the processes involved in mountain formation . Early triangulation is difficult to control the size of the triangle, so that the difference between the new and old measurements does not provide information on whether or not the area has been measured. However, they do provide exact information about the shape changes. It is conceivable that each triangular point of the triangulation station is circular at the first measurement and elliptical at the second measurement. This can be determined by the importance
