泰国从西班牙购买的“加克里·纳吕贝特”号轻型航母于1998年投入服役,这艘泰国航母至今尚未参加过一次军事行动,反而频频扮演“救人天使”的角色。今年4月,连续的暴雨袭击泰国南部旅游胜地,大批外国游客被困在各个景区内。在公路救援无法抵达、当地机场破坏严重的情况下,泰国皇家海军下令该国唯一的这艘航母立即投入救援行动,成功地将730名外国游客转移。
