“此地何人留玉佩,对门有客换金貂”。这是清代女作家刘古香途经高沟、品尝曲酒时留下的佳句,赞誉了“香赞浓郁满七袖,[注]味占东南第一家”的高沟大曲。高沟酒厂地处淮北平原。这里盛产高梁。据古书记载,早在汉朝时,百姓即用高梁酿酒。几百年来,高沟大曲一直畅销于南通、扬州、南京、上海、徐州、济南等地。在南通、扬州、上海还曾有人开设“高沟酒家”,专以高沟大曲招徕宾客。可见当时高沟大曲盛名之一斑。
