随着教育部“高等学校教学质量与教学改革工程”的贯彻实施,大学英语教学改革正在全国范围内有序进行,而教学模式的改革与创新是其中的一项重要内容。2004年开始实行的《大学英语课程教学要求(试行)》指出:“新的教学模式应充分利用多媒体和网络技术,采用新的教学模式改进原来的以教师讲授为主的单一课堂教学模式。”基于网络环境的“以教师为主导,以学生为主体”的“双主”教学模式,正是基于这种考虑而提出的。
