On August 31, the academic report “The 50th Anniversary of the Birth of Atoms from Quantum to Atom” hosted by China Institute of Metrology was held in the Beijing National Convention Center. The report interprets the trends and opportunities faced in measuring the evolution from the physical to the atomic and the future development from the perspective of changes in second definitions, changes in the unit system, development and application of quantization, and strategies and plans of various countries in coping with the reform of the unit system.
