刘星是与我同出周积寅教授一门的师弟。他工书法、精绘画并且擅长著述的成就,已经成为当代很有知名度的书法家、画家、美术史论家。在周积寅教授掌门的俞剑华学派“一手拿文笔,一手拿画笔”的中国美术史治学理念中,刘星跟我一样,是其中先拿画笔数年后再拿文笔的一位,因具备画有风格、文有深度的基本特点,至少在我看来是有很深文化底蕴的大西北上空正在冉冉升起的一颗艺术明星。
Liu Xing is with me a professor Zhou Jianyin a teacher. His work of calligraphy, fine painting and good writing achievements have become well-known contemporary calligrapher, painter, art historian.
