高等职业教育,属于高层次的职业教育,它是经济建设和社会发展对生产、服务第一线专业技术人才层次需求的延伸,也是我国职业技术教育体系建设对高等教育改革的必然要求。《中国教育改革和发展纲要》明确指出:“通过改革现有高等专科学校、职业大学和成人高校,积极发展高等职业教育”。基于这一精神,积极推动地方大学向高等职业教育转轨,努力改善办学条件,提高教学质量,办出特色,培养更多合格的高级应用型人才,对于推动地方经济和社会发展以及人才整体素质的提高,都具有非常重要的意义。
