一、词汇理解 词汇是构成语言的建筑材料,在翻译过程中,首先接触的便是词。要正确理解一个词,一个词组,必须根据上下文,确定各个词的词义,切忌孤立地对待语言现象。否则,总是不可避免地歪曲原文的意思。词汇理解包括以下几个方面: (一)多义词的理解 原文有些词本身是多义的。翻译时要瞻前顾后,从上下文中判断该词的具体含义。译者必须具备这种结合上下文辨别多义词词义的能力。下面举一些译例,借以说明词汇理解的重要:
