在临床上凡遇到老年人出现意识障碍,脑局灶症状,精神异常及抽搐发作等脑功能障碍表现时均应考虑到低血糖脑病的可能。应详细询问病史,既往是否有糖尿病史,是否使用降糖药,用药品种及剂量,近期的饮食情况。并常规测定血糖,尽早诊断出低血糖脑病,及时治疗,尽快纠正血糖,防止不可逆性脑损害的发生,提高对老年糖尿病低血糖症的认识是早期诊断和治疗的关键。
