Gas fields have been discovered in some of the coal-bearing basins in Asia, Europe, Oceania, North and South America. People began to pay attention to “coal into gas” this new area, of which the Soviet Union, the Netherlands, Britain, West Germany and other countries more detailed study. Gas geological research is with the continuous discovery of gas fields and research carried out in our country, although some people have long been aware of this issue, but more extensive gas geological work, or nearly a decade thing. Into the 80’s, the Ministry of Coal Industry began to grasp this work, launched a “preparation of coal mine gas geological map” of scientific research projects, issued a “notice on strengthening gas geological work,” hosted a series of related meetings. During this period, various mining areas and institutions (especially the southwestern, northeastern and Henan provinces and Jiaozuo mines) conducted extensive investigations and studies and founded the “Gas Geological Research Newsletter.” At present, gas geological work has been carried out in the country generally, this “gas geological seminar” is born to adapt to this new situation.
