新疆自古以来都是中国领土,但是,晚清时候,由于清政府的腐败无能,内忧外患加剧,特别是列强插手我国新疆和西南等地区,使我国边疆危机更加严重。为了维护祖国领土和主权完整,左宗棠提出西北边疆的重要性,力主收复新疆,其意见得到清廷采纳,并被任命为钦差大臣率军奔赴新疆。在新疆各族人民的支持下,最后收复新疆,成为我国著名的民族英雄。左宗棠对收复新疆、开发新疆、保卫新疆作出了巨大的贡献。
Since ancient times, Xinjiang was a Chinese territory. However, in the late Qing Dynasty, due to the incompetent corruption and internal and external exactions of the Qing government, especially the strong powers’ intervening in areas such as Xinjiang and the Southwest China made the border crisis in our country even more serious. In order to safeguard the territory and sovereignty of the motherland, Zuo Zongtang put forward the importance of the northwest frontier and tried his best to recover Xinjiang. His opinion was adopted by the Qing court and was appointed as the imperial envoy to run to Xinjiang. With the support of people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang, they finally recovered Xinjiang and became a famous national hero in our country. Zuo Zongtang made great contributions to recovering Xinjiang, developing Xinjiang and defending Xinjiang.
