1989年4月,在内蒙古自治区赤峰市松山区孤山子乡马梁村出土了一件两面刻有契丹大字的四方石柱。石柱长98厘米,宽27厘米,厚23厘米。正面和背面各刻契丹大字两行,共30字。原石现存赤峰市松山区文物管理所。2007年6月,中国社会科学院民族学与人类学研究所契丹文字专家刘凤翥研究员来赤峰学院历史系讲授契丹文字的课程。当月11日,刘风翥教授顺访松山区文物管理所,并对石柱进行了鉴定。我们根据刘教授的鉴定意见对石柱进行考释。
