Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), dioxins, and furans are most toxic in many environmental pollutants. All three can be taken in the body through the food chain and accumulated in adipose tissue. As these chemicals are similar in toxicity, they are often discussed together. The purpose of this study was to investigate the possible link between the two classes of compounds in breast milk and neonatal hemorrhagic disease. Fourteen breastfeeding women in Amsterdam and five lactating women in Poland were included in this study.
