在当前体育高考项目中,考生最不喜欢训练、成绩提升最难的项目就是800米跑了,这是因为800米跑即有耐久跑的特点、又有快速跑的特征等要求决定的。要改变800米训练困境,让学生在训练中能出成绩,我个人认为800米的训练重点因该侧重于速度训练,因为体育高考生的身体素质基本都能承受800米跑耐力水平。因此对于训练体育高考生的教练员来说,速度训练要重于耐力训练;我们必须要迅速摆脱过去那种单纯把800米当作耐久跑的技术、战术风格,将它作为一个独立的运动项目来对待和训练,而不是单纯的中长跑项目。
