Objective To introduce a new animal model of impaired intestinal barrier function in SAP. Methods Mini-pigs underwent aseptic surgery with central venous catheterization, inferior mesenteric vein and portal vein catheterization, pancreatic duct intubation, jejunostomy and cystostomy. Gas chromatographic determination of urine lactulose and mannitol content ratio reflects the intestinal permeability. High-resolution gastrointestinal function meter to measure intestinal motility. Determination of portal vein blood flow with p-amino-hippuric acid method to reflect intestinal blood supply. RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONS Compared with other SAP models, this model mainly has the following advantages: continuous observation of the same animal’s gut permeability for a long time period (1 week or 2 weeks) Changes in blood supply and brain motility, etc., better reflect the relationship between these several factors.
