In early July 1996, I had an interview with Xuzhou City. Party Secretary Wang Xilong in his office to the author analyzed the city’s industrial production situation. From January to May, the city’s economic growth rate is still gratifying: the output value of industries above townships and townships increased by 33% over the same period of last year, while the profits and taxes and fiscal revenues increased by 28% and 26% respectively year-on-year.
