茅于轼,1929年生于南京,抗战时辗转于大后方,1950年毕业于上海义通大学机械系,以后20年从事铁道机械机车车辆研究。70年代中期开始从事运输经济、数理经济的研究。1984的从铁道部科学研究院调到中国社会科学院美国研究所。1993年退休后现任民办的北京天嶂经济研究所所长。曾在北京经济学院、中国矿业学院研究生部、澳大利亚昆士兰大学等院校教授经济学,任西北大学、广东外语外贸大学、山东矿业学院兼职教授,并以访问学者身份在美国哈佛大学从事经济学
Mao Yushi, born in Nanjing in 1929, was removed from the rear during the war of resistance against Japan. He graduated from Shanghai Yitong University in 1950 and graduated from Shanghai Yitong University in 1950 and has been engaged in the research on railway rolling stock for 20 years. The mid-70s began to engage in transport economy, mathematical economy research. 1984 from the Ministry of Railways Academy of Sciences transferred to the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Institute of American. After retiring in 1993, he is currently the director of the privately-funded Beijing Tianzhu Economic Research Institute. He has taught economics at Beijing Institute of Economics, Graduate School of China University of Mining and Technology, University of Queensland, Australia, and is Adjunct Professor of Northwestern University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Shandong Institute of Mining and is a visiting scholar in economics at Harvard University in the United States
