In the history of modern Chinese literature, Yu Dafu (1896-1945) is not only known for his outstanding literary achievements in many fields such as prose, fiction and literary theory, but also one of the most ethnically poetic poets in the world. During his war of resistance against Japan, he went to Nanyang to propagandize the anti-Japanese national salvation and disappeared mysteriously two weeks after Japan announced its surrender. In the end, he was left with a unique experience of suffering in Sumatra, leaving behind his brief but tragic life
