Caterpillar has developed a new 3412 electronically controlled diesel engine. It is suitable for locomotives. This diesel engine features an electronic unit injection fuel system that is part of an Electronic Control Module (ECM) design and therefore has a rated power of 373 to 783 kW, belonging to the company’s newest 3400E series of diesel engines.
