蜡果即是用蜡制成的一些果实的模型标本。这种标本形象逼真,酷似果实的原貌并可长期保存。蜡果不仅在教学上和科研上有着重要的使用价值,也可作为点缀家庭环境的装饰品。 制作蜡果标本的范围甚广,苹果、桔子、梨、桃、李、杏、香蕉、茄子、番茄、辣椒、黄瓜等都可以制成蜡果。制作蜡果也是学生比较感兴趣的课外活动。现将其制作的主要过程介绍如下,供同行们参考。 一、选定模本 在选定苹果、桔子、梨等模本时应以个头稍大、形状典型(能代表该品种多数形状的)表面完整无缺的为标准。 二、作模子 1.作围盘 对选定好的模本进行仔细观察。找出其球体的最大径,用铅笔画上线作为记号(图1)。用一块适当大小的马粪纸,从中间剪出一个圆作围盘(图2)。圆的大小务求与模本的最大径相吻合,切勿相差过多。
