February 11, 2002, the United States Department of Agriculture released the global forecast of food trade in February, the main contents are as follows. Wheat: The global wheat trade volume in 2001/02 is estimated at 107.5 million tons in 2001/02, an increase of 4.2 million tons from the previous year. Global wheat production is forecast to have been reduced by 4.2 million tonnes from the previous year and output has fallen below consumption for the third year in a row.
