乾隆十九年成书的《福州府志》,和乾隆十二年成书的《福清县志》,关于福清县历史的记载,互为雷同与差异,本文分别从舆地、建置、民赋、艺文、选举、职官、人物、烈女、杂事等方面进行比较。经过对两志具体而详细的异同比较,笔者的浅见是:两志除了星野、形势、疆域、岁时、风俗这少量篇幅的内容相同之外,而在篇幅占绝大部分的山岭、川泽、乡里、水利、建置、民赋、艺文、选举、职官、人物、烈女、杂事等方面的记述,都有不少不同。
