以春秋时期介子推的故事为世人所熟知的绵山耸立在介休县与灵石县交界处。绵山西部陡峭的山脚下是一片丘陵,一条发源于绵山深处的小河由东北向西南注入汾河,小河北侧的静升镇有著名的晋商旧宅王家大院。马和村位于灵石县城东北部,北距静升2公里,东北部距以出土商代青铜器闻名的旌介也只有5公里。
