In order to understand the impact of mercury work on their children’s intellectual development and urinary mercury (Hg) values, we measured the children’s intelligence and urinary mercury levels of female workers in a mercury glass workshop in a glassware factory in June 1981. Methods and Results The main products produced in this plant are hydrometers and syringes, both of which are exposed to mercury. The average concentration of mercury in each workshop was 0.014mg / m ~ 3.216 workers in mercury absorption of 109 people, 63 mercury poisoning, poisoning rate of 29.2%. A total of 32 children of women workers exposed to mercury work, age distribution in 6 months -3 years old. Thirty-two tractor factory children of the same age were selected as controls, and their intelligence development tests were performed using the diagnostic criteria of Gesell’s intelligence development.
