在人类文明发展史上,道德总是一种精神文明或曾经是一种精神文明。在特定的历史时代,相对于当时代社会发展的客观要求来说,道德并不都是一种精神文明,有些是,有些不是,有些还是阻碍社会文明进步的“精神垃圾”。所以,相对于特定的历史时代来说,研究道德的社会价值只能是在“道德文明”的意义上;当我们在使用“道德价值”这一概念时,那是从道德发展和不断走向文明进步的全过程或全貌的角度出发的,这是考察道德价值的方法论前提。
