After studying the General Line and reading the article entitled “How Nurses Work to Serve the General Line”, Vice Minister Fu Lian-kang made preliminary criticisms of past misconceptions about the work of nurses and saw their own bright future and thus got a boost in their work. After the liberation of East China in 1949, I took the personal motivation of learning technology and took part in the revolutionary ranks. At that time, I was full of passion and wanted to be a doctor. However, I did not know what to do and I decided to study nurses. I once heard people say that a nurse is a “higher servant.” During my study, especially during the internship, I also had such misunderstanding. Therefore, I did not concentrate in class and did not mind examinations. In the ward, I hated those jobs of making beds and wiping pots and urinals. I think nurses work busy and tired, and sometimes patients have to lose their temper, nurses work really thankless. I mistakenly think that a nurse is like a talking machine. There is no future for development. After a day with the doctor, the nurse prepares various sterilizing instruments for the doctor. alone
