Salzburg close to the German border, is the hometown of the great composer Mozart. There are many churches here, ideal for walking on foot. The beautiful Salzkammer divides Salzburg into the new town, the old town in two parts. Salzburg is exceptionally beautiful with unique, historic minaret churches and monasteries, tree-lined gardens and fountains of varied colors. There is also a fascinating residential area full of medieval features, the birthplace of Mozart, the Mozart Conservatory, the Mozart Square and the Mozart memorial statues. Alpine beauty and colorful architecture combine seamlessly, making Salzburg one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
