打开传媒,近期的热点又轮到中国电信:北京等相当部分城市住宅电话座机费上涨,市话费上涨,民怨沸腾;北京电信某局以市话为条件要挟用户,生生从别人案板上夺走了一只煮熟了的鸭子,电信喊香,多人叫苦(详情见近期相关媒体)。去年11月,这样一件事曾让国人感受到了中国电信的实力——与另8家国内企业一起入选美国《财富》杂志2000年全球500家最大企业排行榜(俗称500强)。中国电信表现不俗,紧迫美国电子数据系统公司居236位,比声名显赫的微软公司仅差20位。
