Since the establishment of diplomatic relations 60 years ago, the friendly relations between the two countries have been fully developed and their economic and trade cooperation has continuously reached a new high. The bilateral trade volume between China and Vietnam increased from 32.23 million U.S. dollars in 1991 to more than 20 billion U.S. dollars in 2009. China has become Vietnam’s largest trading partner for six consecutive years. Both sides have conducted fruitful cooperation in the field of project contracting. Vietnam has become China’s second largest contract market for construction projects in Southeast Asia.
