The paper discusses the characteristics of landslide occurred in Niigata prefecture. Landslides in Niigata prefecture have multiple snowmelt periods in meteorology, with multiple occurrences during the heavy rainy season. Geologically, the landslides along the bedding plane of the Tertiary sediments are geologically dominated .
