OBJECTIVE: To investigate the level of hope (PLWHA) of anti-retroviral therapy (ART) patients and to analyze their influencing factors, so as to provide a theoretical basis for improving their quality of life. Methods: A total of 206 cases of PLWHA who received ART1 ~ 109 months free of charge in the outpatient setting were surveyed. The Herth Hope Scale was used to investigate the expected level of PLWHA. Logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the influencing factors. Results: The hope level score of 206 patients was (36.2 ± 3.89) points, and the scores of 3 dimensions were from high to low: positive action (12.48 ± 1.73), positive attitude toward reality and future (11.98 ± 1.35) and Close relationship with others (11.74 ± 1.47). The statistical results suggest that the level of self-acceptance, monthly income and route of infection affect the level of hope of PLWHA receiving ART. CONCLUSION: PLWHA receiving ART has a high level of hope value, helping to accept the fact that HIV infection, rational face of their sexual behavior and access to social support, help to raise their hope level, thereby enhancing the quality of life.
