A recent CBS public opinion poll showed that although the American public agreed to eventually crack down on Iraq, two-thirds of Americans still hope that the parliament should play a role in any resolution on military action against Iraq. Almost all the respondents to the survey pointed out that they believe that the U.S. government needs to seek the support of its allies before attacking Iraq. And the number of people who approve and oppose the question of whether it is worthwhile to overthrow Saddam Hussein’s possible loss of life and other property is roughly the same.
