曾国藩是中国近代史上的破坏者和建设者。对他的外交活动,向来的评价是见仁见智,有褒有贬。本文试图分析指导曾国藩外交活动的思想及其变化趋势,并探究影响这种抉择的原因和要素,力图从心态历史学的角度勾划曾国藩外交活动的主流。认为曾国藩并非是一个“汉奸”、“卖国贼”,而是一个为维护风雨飘摇的清王朝统治,在内忧外患中“理势并审”,处理外交事务,试图卧薪尝胆但终无可奈何的爱国者。
Zeng Guofan is a vandal and builder in the modern history of China. His diplomatic activities, the evaluation has always been a matter of opinion, praise and derogatory. This article tries to analyze and analyze the thoughts and trends of Tseng Kuo-fan’s diplomatic activities, and to explore the reasons and elements that influence this decision, in an attempt to outline the mainstream of Tseng Kuo-fan’s diplomatic activities from the perspective of psychology and history. He believes that Zeng Guofan is not a “traitor” or a “traitor”, but a patriot who tries to maintain diplomatic stability and end without help in the maintenance of the precarious rule of the Qing Dynasty.
