森林鼠害在我省东部林区落叶松人工林普遍发生,为害极大。害鼠冬季在雪下啃食树木的韧皮,部分啃度者为害较轻,除影响树木生长外,伤口长久不愈,树木易遭风折;环状啃皮者为害较重,可致导树木死亡。据1981年调查,桓仁县落叶松林鼠害发生面积已达3万余亩,占该树种全县总面积的10％。严重被害林分,被害率高达82％、死亡率达53％,平均15％,鼠害严重地威胁着落叶松人工林的培育工作。
