Finnish scientists recently invented a new method of disinfection of drinking water, a method that is inexpensive and can cost billions of dollars worldwide if it can be rolled out. A research team at the Kuopio Institute of Environmental Health in Finland said they found that phosphate in water plays a key role in the growth of microbes. If phosphate is removed, microbes are hard to grow.
