九华山是中国佛教四大名山之一,相传为大愿地藏王菩萨应化道场。这里群峰竞秀,古木参天,飞湍溅玉,岩穴幽然,古寺名刹掩映于苍松翠竹之间,素享人间仙境、莲花佛国之美誉,深受海内外佛门信众景仰。九华山位于安徽青阳县西南二十余里处,北临长江,南接黄山,方圆二百余里,有九十九峰,主峰十王峰海拔1342米,其山川之雄奇秀美,东南诸山无出其右,故有“东南第一山”之誉。此山古称九子山,据《太平御览》载:“此山奇秀,高出云表,峰峦异状,其数有九,故号九子山焉。”而此山易名九华山,则源自唐代大诗人李白。
