One-year survival rates in patients with coronary artery disease who have pets are higher than those in non-pets. It is well-known that lifestyle-related diseases are risk factors for coronary heart disease and can induce autonomic imbalances. The aim of this study was to determine whether having a pet regulates its cardiac autonomic nervous activity imbalance in patients with lifestyle-related diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and the like.
