“明四家”翘楚沈周注重个人形象,尤其步入老年直至去世前各年龄段有多幅自题画像。此外,鉴于其“吴门画派”宗师地位,身后亦不乏被绘制肖像受人瞻仰。上海博物馆藏佚名沈周全身肖像暨其自题两段石刻拓本,后半段题画诗即出自今逸《石渠宝笈》著录《明沈周画小像》,应以已佚沈周去世前夕八十三岁重题七十四岁肖像文字为蓝本。
