Hayao Miyazaki is reputed as “Kurosawa of the animation industry ”. His films, with their profound practical significance and high humanistic concern, have changed the narrow understanding of cartoons that have long been known around the world and gained worldwide recognition. A major feature of Hayao Miyazaki’s film is that he communicates his profound thinking on the issue of women through a series of distinctive female images. The article will make an in-depth analysis of Miyazaki Hayao’s consciousness of female subject embodied in “Witch’s Delivery Service” from the aspects of creation purpose and way of life of woman.
