At the 2008 National Securities and Futures Regulatory Working Conference held on January 17, 2008, the Chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission Shang Fulin said that in the first half of this year, it will strive to launch the GEM. This is the first time that the regulator has explicitly put forward the launch time of the GEM. With the approaching of the pace, the GEM has become the focus of attention of the majority of SMEs. However, even if the GEM is launched, it cannot meet the surging financing needs of Chinese SMEs.
