闽北水文历史悠久,闽北水文从无到有,闽北水文从小到大,闽北水文人业绩突出。在闽北大地上最早设立的水文站点是松溪县溪口站《1935年6月7日)和南平延福门水标站(1935年6月16日),开始观测河道水位;最早设立的雨量站为建溪较场坊站(1936年7月8日),开始观测降雨量。从此,闽北大地上水文站点和水文测验项目不断增加,水文仪器设备性能和水文科学技术也不断进步。
