朱自清(1898-1948),字佩弦,本名自华,号秋实。生于江苏东海,长在扬州。文学家、学者。1917年入北京大学。1925年到清华大学任教。1913年留学英国并漫游欧洲大陆。回国后任清华大学中国文学系主任、教授。抗战期间执教于西南联大。文学研究会早期成员之一。一生著作二十余种,主要有诗文集《踪迹》,散文集《背影》、《欧游杂记》等,文艺论集《诗言志辨》和《朱自清古典文学论文集》等。
