为了提高办学效益和教育质量,1986年江阴市西郊镇政府下决心调整小学布局,拆并了6所村小,征用40亩土地新建校舍,一所新的全日制完小--西郊中心小学便在江阴的城乡结合部诞生了。一、从规范学生日常行为入手,全面育人--西郊中心小学的养成教育成效显著。面对学生中普遍缺乏良好的学习、劳动、生活习惯的现状,校领导团结全体教职工,从贯彻《小学生日常行为规范》起步,注重学生良好行为习惯和道德品质养成。到1990年该校就先后被授予无锡市政治思想工作
